Message from the Principal
I am honored to introduce myself as the new principal of both the Las Flores Virtual Academy K-12 (including Elk Grove Virtual Academy) and William Daylor High School. It is a privilege to serve your families. My goal is to ensure that all of our students have a safe, positive, and supportive academic environment so they may learn as much as they can.
I have served as an educator for over 25 years, all in the Elk Grove Unified School District. I was an English, History, Humanities, and Opportunity teacher as well as a Vice Principal at Harriet Eddy Middle School and then as a Vice Principal at Samuel Jackman Middle School. Most recently I was the Vice Principal for the Elk Grove Virtual Academy K-8 and Las Flores High School. We have combined the two programs under the new name Las Flores Virtual Academy K-12. The K-8 program is located at 5900 Bamford Drive and the high school is located at 6131 Orange Avenue on the Daylor campus. On any given day you can find me on both campuses working with our staff to ensure that your students are supported both academically and emotionally.
I am a proud graduate of the University of Maryland – Go Terrapins! However, I was born and raised in California and consider the Sacramento area my home. Growing up I attended schools in Stockton, Sacramento, Maryland, and also spent three years as a middle school student learning in Cairo, Egypt. I love to travel and consider myself a lifelong learner, searching out new experiences. I have one daughter who recently graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara (Go Gauchos!). I am passionate about learning and equity; and I come from a long line of educators following in the footsteps of parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Our 2022/2023 school year began August 11, 2022. It is important that all students attend school every day. EGVA students have a mandatory class meeting every morning (time to be determined by their teacher) that they must attend in order to receive attendance credit. We are planning an exciting year with social and extended learning opportunities to engage families in person on our campuses. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or ideas. I am looking forward to working with you this school year.
In Partnership,
