Message from the Principal

Dear Falcon Families,

I am so excited to welcome you to a new school year!  I hope you all had wonderful experiences over the summer and are ready to get back to learning!  My goal is to ensure that all of our students have a safe, positive, and supportive academic environment so they may learn as much as they can at Las Flores.

You should be hearing from your teacher in early August, welcoming you to school, setting up your schedule for online learning, and providing you with their contact information. It is important that all students "attend" school every day. Students should expect to spend a minimum of 4-5 hours each day completing work independently.  Las Flores K-8 students have a mandatory daily class meeting (time to be determined by their teacher) that they must attend in order to receive attendance credit. The 9-12 Las Flores students have a mandatory weekly meeting with their teachers and an Advisory class that they must attend in order to receive attendance credit. This year we will be providing a mandatory advocacy (homeroom) class where all students will meet in groups to work on learning strategies, citizenship and character development and social emotional lessons.  All of these meetings are a mandatory part of the Las Flores program and students must attend in order to stay enrolled with us.

All tests must be proctored (supervised). Students will make arrangements with their teacher to take their tests. We are planning an exciting year with many social and extended learning opportunities to engage families in person on our campuses.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or ideas. I value your voice and family involvement is welcomed in attending Family Nights, joining the School Site Council, coming along on field trips and engaging with your student's learning activities and with their teacher.  I am looking forward to working with you this school year.

In Partnership,
Justine A. Fuller
